You can export an Analytic Chart or its underlying details to Microsoft Excel. When exported, an analytic chart will appear as a simple graphic, and the detailed data will appear as a table in Excel that you can format and perform calculations on using standard Excel features. Exporting charts and data to Excel requires that you have Microsoft Excel 2007 installed on your computer.

To export an Analytic Chart to Excel

  • Open the Web Part menu (click on the down arrow in the upper right corner of the report view), and then click Export to Excel. This will open a File Download dialog box prompting you to open or save the file.

  • The chart will be exported as an image in Excel (with a link to the Dashboard in which the chart is placed). You will not be able to drill down on the chart or use any of the analytic functionality that may be available in the Dashboard.

To export transaction-level detail for an Analytic Chart to Excel

  1. Right-click on the chart and either click Show Details or click Additional Actions and then select Drillthrough. A new browser window will open showing the individual line items for the Analytic Chart report.

  2. Click the Export to Excel button (located in the upper left corner of the new browser window). This will open a File Download dialog box prompting you to open or save the file.
