Agus Muntholib was born in Sragen in 1986. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Law from Diponegoro University in 2008. He obtained his Master of Law in Legal Studies from University of I​ndonesia in 2016.

He held various positions in OJK, namely as the Staff Department of Capital Market 1A (2013-2015), Head of Subdivision Department of Capital Market 1A (2015-2020), Senior Analyst Department of Capital Market 1A (2020-2023) and Senior Analyst Department of Capital Market Regulation and Development (2023-2024). His last position was as the Head of Cirebon OJK Office since 2024.
