Roberto Akyuwen
Roberto Akyuwen was born in Ambon in 1970. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Technology from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in 1993 and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universitas Terbuka in 2003. He obtained his Master of Science (M.Si.) from the Development Economics Master's Program at UGM in 1996. In 2003, he completed his doctoral studies in Economics at the Faculty of Economics, UGM, graduating cum laude, and conducted Supervisory Research at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Albany, United States, as part of his doctoral program.
Roberto began his career as a Civil Servant at the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) of Maluku Province in 1994, later working in various central government institutions such as the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Poverty Reduction Committee, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance. In January 2014, he joined the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), starting as a Senior Executive Analyst in Microfinance Institution (LKM) development (2014–2017), then serving as the Coordinator for Financial Services Institution Supervision in the Eastern Region and Deputy Commissioner for Banking Supervision IV (DKB4). Since May 2022, Roberto has served as the Head of OJK Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi and Banten Province.
Throughout his career, Roberto has written dozens of scientific and popular articles, book reviews, research studies, and several books, including his two latest titles: Digital Transformation in Banking - Utilizing Integrated Solutions (2021) and Bank Cybersecurity (2024).
