Jakarta, May 26, 2017 — The Task Force for Handling Alleged Unlawful Acts involving Public Funds Collection and Investment Management (the Investment Alert Task Force) once more suspended unauthorized, and allegedly illegal, public funds collection and business activities—which offered products that could be financially detrimental to the public.

For the purpose of providing ongoing public protection, the Investment Alert Task Force has suspended the business activities of the following three entities:

  1. Koperasi Harus Sukses Bersama (that offered equity participation), Jambi
  2. PT Multi Sukses Internasional; Bandung
  3. www.assetamazon.com, Batam

Investment Alert Task Force Chairman Tongam L Tobing revealed that the decision to suspend those entities' business activities was taken based on complaints and/or inquiries from the public through print as well as electronic media, and also in the light of the results from the Task Force's first-hand observation and investigation.

'The Investment Alert Task Force has questioned the entities and summoned them to explain about their legal status and business activities," he said.

Koperasi Harus Sukses Bersama—a cooperative that offered equity participation to the public—and PT Multi Sukses Internasional responded to the summons by attending the meeting held by the Task Force. In the meeting, both companies admitted that they conducted their activities without any license from the competent authorities.

Therefore, following reviews, analyses, and follow-up actions taken against the three entities, and based on prevailing legal regulations, the Task Force stated that those entities had to suspend their business activities.

The Investment Alert Task Force urges the public not to do any investment activities with the three entities and be careful with any similar ventures operated by other companies. If the public find such undertakings, they are called upon to report to the Task Force.

Since the beginning of 2017, the Task Force has suspended 29 entities and it will keep monitoring and seeking information on illegal investment activities from public sources.

Further, the Task Force urges the public to take the following precautions before investing their money:

  1. Make sure the companies that offer investment products have business licenses from the competent authorities and the licenses are relevant to their business activities.
  2. Make sure the parties who offer investment products have permits to do so or they are registered as marketing partners.
  3. Make sure that any logo of government agency or institution, which is found in the promotional media, has been listed there in compliance with provisions of the legislation.
