Juda Agung was appointed as a Member of the Board of Commisioners at Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) through Presidential Decree No. 72/P/2025.
Born in Pontianak in 1964, Juda Agung earned his undergraduate degreein Agricultural Industrial Technology from Bogot Agricultural University in 1987. He later completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham, earning a Master's degree in Money, Banking, and Finance (with distinction) in 1995, followed by a PhD in Economics in 1999.
He began his career at Bank Indonesia in 1991 and has since built an impressive portfolio across both domestic and international roles. His global experience includes serving as an Economist at the Netherlands Central Planning Bureau, Advisor to the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and later as Executive Director at the IMF, representing a group of 13 Southeast Asian and Pasific countries. Within Bank Indonesia, he has held several strategic positions, contributing to numerous economic research, monetary policies development, macroprudential regulation, strategic planning, and regional office management.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Juda Agung led the Macroprudential Policy Departement (DKMP) and served concurrently as Assistant Governor from 2020 to 2022. In this role, he oversaw financial system stability and macroprudential policy. Under his leadership, Bank Indonesia established the foundation for its macroprudential policy framework, introducing key policies that support financial inclusion and sustainable finance.
As a seasoned economist, Juda Agung has published widely in respected international journals, including the Reviewof International Economics, Applied Economics, and the Asian Economic Journal. He previously taught in the graduate economics program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia and one of his most influential contributions is the book of Macroprudential Policy in Indonesia: Concepts, Framework, and Implementation, which is now considered a core reference in the field. He is also a regular speaker at major international forums such as the IMF, FSB, BIS, and EMEAP, and has delivered guest lectures at universities both in Indonesia and aboard.
