Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto ensured that the government continues to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) to face the demographic bonus. According to BPS records, Indonesia has 64.50 million youths out of a total 270.20 million population.

One of the ways the government has implemented to encourage the improvement of the quality of human resources is to prepare a budget through the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"The budget that has been prepared is IDR 542.8 trillion and this is used to improve the quality of human resources as the main capital for national development," said Airlangga Hartarto when delivering a Public Lecture at Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya (UWKS), as quoted from a written statement on Sunday ( 20/2/2022).

The funds are for various things. For example, for the Bidik Misi Program or the Indonesia Smart College Card which will reach 713.8 thousand students, Education Fund Management Institution Scholarships for 8,600 new students and 20,090 on-going students, school operational assistance which will target 8.8 million students, and the Indonesian program. Smart that will be accepted by 20.1 million students.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto hopes that UWKS can also form business incubators so that the entrepreneurial spirit of students can be honed with quality. Entrepreneurship improvement programs are also a very important focus given the low entrepreneurship ratio, which is 3.47 percent of the total population. With more and more people becoming self-employed, it is important for the state to facilitate these job creators in addition to getting the opportunity, as well as obtaining the necessary financing.

The government has also provided financing support for entrepreneurs and MSMEs through the People's Business Credit (KUR) program. KUR segmentation which has been divided into super micro, micro, and small KUR can be used for students who want to build their business from an early age.
