The ambition to make the digital sector a driving force for the economy in the future must be accompanied by extra hard efforts from all stakeholders. In addition to infrastructure support, strengthening human resource (HR) talent is absolutely necessary to support transformation readiness.
Based on IMD World Digital Competitiveness 2019 data, in the skill readiness and human resource capability sector, Indonesia's ranking is still above 50. For example, related to the education expenditure budget which is in position 57, then the achievement level of education is in position 58 and the ratio of graduates in science in 50th order.
These data make Indonesia's overall position in position 56 out of 63 countries in the Digital Competitiveness ranking in 2019. In comparison, the United States (US), which ranks first as the most competitive country in the digital sector, dominates skill quality factors, such as concentration science that has always been at the top for the last five years.
