The implementation of anti-corruption measures, including the prevention of bribery, is crucial and should be applied across all organizations, including the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Financial Services Institutions (FSI). The application of Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) is expected to foster a culture of anti-bribery and strengthen anti-corruption controls.
As part of the collaboration between Ministries, Institutions, Regional Governments, other Stakeholders, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and in response to Presidential Regulation Number 54 of 2018 regarding the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention (Stranas PK), OJK has become one of the key institutions responsible for implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in the Financial Services Sector. OJK, together with the Financial Services Sector, represented by various associations in the Banking, Capital Market, and Non-Bank Financial Industries, signed a joint commitment to implement the SNI ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) on August 18, 2020. This commitment was followed by a voluntary pledge from Financial Services Institutions (FSI) to implement the ABMS through obtaining SNI ISO 37001 certification.
On August 10, 2021, OJK achieved SNI ISO 37001 certification. With this certification, OJK hopes to set an example for FSI in implementing ABMS within their respective institutions. In 2022, OJK successfully maintained its SNI ISO 37001 ABMS certification through a surveillance process conducted by an independent consultant.
Based on the information provided by FSI to OJK as of April 29, 2024, there are 73 (seventy-three) FSIs that have obtained the SNI ISO 37001 ABMS certification. OJK appreciates the FSIs that have committed to and are implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS). It is hoped that this implementation will be followed by other FSIs in Indonesia.
Moving forward, OJK, together with FSI, is expected to continue collaborating to promote the creation of a healthy, integrity-driven, credible, and trustworthy Financial Services Sector.
