ENCOURAGES ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE FOR THE WELFARE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Jakarta, May 7, 2025. The Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) Office of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Banten (KOJT), together with the Social Services Agency of DKI Jakarta, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), held a financial education activity targeting people with disabilities at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social service Hall on Wednesday (7/5).
This activity is part of a series of Financial Literacy campaigns in the context of Financial Inclusion Month in 2025 with the theme "Prosperous Future with Financial Planning". This activity aims to increase financial literacy and inclusion for people with disabilities, a priority segment of financial education in 2025.
The event was held in a hybrid manner, combining offline and online participation, with 100 participants with disabilities under the guidance of the Jakarta Provincial Social Service, who were present in person at the Social Services Agency of DKI Jakarta Hall. Meanwhile, 200 other participants participated in this activity online through the Zoom Meeting platform.
The Head of the Social Services Agency of DKI Jakarta, Maria Margaretha, expressed appreciation for this event, as it represents a significant step towards an inclusive and equitable society.
The educational material presented included several important topics, namely Alfonda from the OJK Jabodebek Office, which equipped participants with knowledge about consumer protection in the Financial Services Sector in the Digital Era, as Well as Awareness About the Dangers of Illegal Investments, Illegal Online Loans, and Online Gambling. In addition, Harsaid Yusuf Bakhtiar from BSI introduced inclusive Islamic banking products and services. A Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Lolita Setyawati, provided in-depth material on Financial Planning for a Prosperous Future.
Director of Financial Services, Business Conduct, Education, and Consumer Protection Supervisor at OJK Jabodebek, Nuning Isnainijati, explained that OJK continues to strengthen its collaboration to intensify the Financial Smart Movement.
"The disability group is one of the 10 national financial inclusion and literacy targets. In addition, we are encouraging the achievement of the national target, which is 2 million financial literacy agents and 90 percent of students have savings by 2025," Nuning explained. The OJK Jabodebek Office continues to make efforts to improve the financial literacy and inclusion index, especially in the Jakarta area, focusing on 10 priority targets, including disability, by 2025.
