Satgas PASTI Bans 1.001 Illegal Entities in June-July 2024

Illegal Financial Activities Eradication Task Force (Satgas PASTI, previously known as Investment Alert Task Force) found 850 illegal onl​ine loan entity sites and apps as well as 59 personal loan contents in June-July 2024. These contents were potentially detrimental for the public and violated personal data privacy.

Satgas PASTI also banned 65 illegal investment offers carried out by certain parties, impersonating and duplicating licensed entity's product names, sites, or social media.

Additionally, Satgas PASTI also discovered 27 entities offering illegal investment or financial activities:

  1. 11 entities conducting part-time job offer schemes;
  2. 7 entities engaging in unlicensed investment offers;
  3. One entity engaging in unlicensed crypto assets trading;
  4. 8 entities engaging in unlicensed banking activities

Based on these findings and after coordinating with fellow members, Satgas PASTI banned these entities and coordinated with the law enforcement to take actions in accordance with the prevailing regulations.

Since 2017 up until July 31, 2024, the task force has terminated 10,890 illegal financial entities, in which 1,459 of them were illegal investment, 9,180 of them were illegal online loans and personal loans, and 251 of them were illegal pawnshops.

Satgas PASTI reminds the public to always be careful, alert, and not use illegal online loans or personal loans due to their potential harms such as data privacy breach and misuse. Satgas PASTI also encourages the public to be alert of impersonation schemes for investment activities in social media, particularly in Telegram.

Pemblokiran Rekening Bank dan Kontak Pelaku

Satgas PASTI has been informed regarding the 43 bank accounts or virtual accounts. These accounts were reported due to its possible involvement in illegal online loans. Satgas PASTI has requested bans on these accounts to the bank supervision task force in OJK to be forwarded to the related banks for ban request.

Based on the P2SK Law, OJK's supervisory duties also includes the authority to instruct Banks to ban certain bank accounts.

In addition to bank account or virtual bank account, Satgas PASTI also fond debt collectors' WhatsApp numbers involved in illegal online loans. These numbers reportedly conducted harassments, threats, intimidations, and other actions that violates the provisions. Regarding this matter, Satgas PASTI has requested the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics to ban 194 contact numbers.

The block and ban will continue in coordination with the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics to eradicate illegal online loan ecosystems, which concerns the public.
