PRESS RELEASE

OJK JOINS HANDS WITH STATISTICS INDONESIA TO CONDUCT THE NATIONAL SURVEY OF FINANCIAL LITERACY AND INCLUSION (SNLIK) 2025

Jakarta, February 7, 2025. Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) joined hands with Statistics Indonesia to conduct the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) 2025 in all provinces.

This marks the second collaboration between OJK and Statistics Indonesia, proceeding SNLIK in 2024. The preparation, data, and calculation of SNLIK in 2025 is expected to have maintained better quality and accuracy to gain the index that illustrates the current public financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.

Chief Executive of Market Conduct Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection of OJK Friderica Widyasari Dewi and Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti attended the witnessing of the 2025 SNLIK at Pegangsaan Subdistrict, North Jakarta, Special Capital Region of Jakarta, on Friday.

Friderica explained that SNLIK, held jointly with Statistic Indonesia, essentially measures five aspects: knowledge, skills, beliefs, attitude and behaviour of the public on financial products and services.

“In the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) Law, financial services business actors are required to educate and hold literacy events, in which the survey results may evaluate whether OJK and financial services business actors have acted effectively in accordance with OJK programs effectiveness targets," Friderica said.

She also conveyed that based on the study conducted by OECD, literacy rate in a country positively relates to the nation's level of prosperity.

“That is why, we shall promote a well-literate community, not only well-literate, but also adept in using the financial services products," she stated.

Meanwhile, Amalia extended her hopes upon conducting SNLIK in 2025.

“We thank OJK for our stellar cooperation, because we are certainly glad to be able to provide our support for SNLIK results benefitting better regulations and policies in the future by OJK," Amalia said.

The SNLIK witnessing ensures proper survey data collection and processing by the Field Data Officers. Witnessing is also carried out by OJK Regional Offices and the Central Statistics Indonesia in each province to ensure data processing quality of the 2025 SNLIK.

The 2025 SNLIK data is carried out throughout January 22 to February 11, 2025, in 34 provinces in Indonesia including 120 cities/regencies, 8 OJK Office areas, amounting to 1,080 Census Block.

A total of 375 Field Data Officers and 121 Field Inspection Officer collected the data on field, using Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). Each Field Data Officer will be responsible for 2 to 3 Census Block Areas and will be assisted by a Field Inspection Officer.

The 2025 SNLIK results will illustrate the public's financial literacy and inclusion in 2024. Referring to the Presidential Decree Number 114 of 2020 on the National Strategy of Inclusive Finances, Indonesia financial inclusion target in 2024 shall reach 90 percent. This target motivates OJK to carry out the 2025 SNLIK to evaluate the target achievement set forth in the Presidential Decree.

To achieve this target, OJK massively held financial literacy and inclusion programs through the National Movement of Financial Inclusion GENCARKAN, in which OJK collaborated with all stakeholders in banking, capital market, insurance, pension fund, financing, and associations. Moreover, OJK and the Regional Government prepared and implemented financial inclusion programs through the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD). Overall, the programs' objective is to create a literate, educated, and protected community in Indonesia.
