Financial Services Authority, Jakarta, May 9, 2016: The Financial Services Authority (OJK) holds another Sharia big event. As part of the Islamic Banking Expo Vaganza run in a number of cities in Indonesia, the OJK hosts the 2016 Sharia Financial Fair from May 12 to May 15, 2016, at Royal Plaza Surabaya, East Java. The fair also serves as a pre-event of Sharia Banking Olympics.

The Sharia Financial Fair is supported by Islamic banks, the Sharia non-bank financial industry, the Sharia capital market, and the Sharia financial industry. The event promises to offer various activities, including talk shows that will discuss different topics, such as: Sharia and Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises; Saving is Easy and Exciting; Get Financial Security for Your Life and Enjoy Peace of Mind; and Let's Become Young Investors.

That is not all. Various competitions will also be held during the Fair. They range from Coloring Competition, Rank 1 Game Show, Shopping Race, Acoustic Music Performance, Moslem Fashion Show, to Journalism Photo Competition.

During the Sharia Banking Olympics pre-event, registration is open for senior high school (SMA), Islamic senior high school (MA), and vocational high school (SMK) students of various fields of studies in Surabaya who wish to participate in the Olympics as teams of three. Each school may send up to two teams of different students, together with accompanying teachers.

Plus, there are many prizes to win. The Sharia Financial Fair offers a grand prize of one unit of Yamaha NMAX motorbike, and daily door prizes that include a smartphone, three shopping vouchers worth IDR 100,000 each, and two units of 2.5-gram gold bar.   

For the Sharia Banking Olympics, the winner, the first runner up and the second runner up will receive cash prizes worth IDR 7 million, IDR 5 million, and IDR 3 million respectively.
