Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) officially launched Indonesia Sharia Banking Development and Strengthening Roadmap (RP3SI) 2023-2027, which explores the theme “Resilient Sharia Banking, for People's Prosperity".
As an update to the 2020-2025 Indonesian Sharia Banking Development Roadmap (RP2SI), RP3SI is expected to be a guide for the OJK, associations and the sharia banking industry in developing strategies for developing and strengthening sharia banking in the next five years. This roadmap is a form of OJK's commitment and concrete steps to direct the future of the sharia banking industry in Indonesia.
RP3SI delivers the vision to realize a sound, efficient, high-integrity, competitive sharia banking, as well as to provide significant contribution to the national economy in achieving communal benefits. In order to achieve this goal, RP3SI is summarized in five main focus area that includes three dimensions, namely supply side, demand side, and the internal side of OJK as the main advocation to overall aspects in the sharia banking.
The five aforementioned pillars are:
Sharia Banking Industry Structure and Endurance Strengthening
Acceleration of Sharia Banking Digitalization
Sharia Banking Characteristic Enhancement
Sharia Banking Contribution Improvement for the National Economy
Sharia Banking Regulation, License, and Supervision Strengthening
For optimum implementation of RP3SI, leadership and change management and collaboration with stakeholders are needed for its implementation prerequisite. By involving all internal and external parties, the national sharia banking industry is expected to continuously develop and fortify itself.
When all RP3SI aspects and components have been holistically and collaboratively implemented, the national sharia banking will develop further and become one of the pillars of national economic growth and provide benefits for the public in Indonesia.
