COMMEMORATING PANCASILA DAY IN 2025: IMPLEMENTING
PANCASILA VALUES IN FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR STRENGTHENING
Jakarta, June 2, 2025. Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) emphasized Pancasila values comprehension and implementation as a form of nationalism in supervisory duties and services in the financial services sector during his speech.
The 2025 Pancasila Day Flag Ceremony "Fortifying the Philosophy of Pancasila for Greater Indonesia" was held in hybrid manner at the courtyard of Soemitro Djojohadikusumo Building, the Ministry of Finance Complex, Jakarta, on Monday.
The flag ceremony became the moment to revitalize all OJK people's nationalism and commitment in implementing Pancasila values in their daily duties; realising financial services sector that is inclusive, just, and contributory to the community welfare.
Mahendra Siregar pointed out that Pancasila values is not only relevant in national context, but also the global worldview as underlined by the First President Soekarno in his speech in front of the United States of America Congress in 1956.
“Pancasila is a universal value, an anchor for all Nations who wishes for independence, justice, and prosperity in the global scene and peaceful international relations," Mahendra Siregar stated in his remarks.
Furthermore, Mahendra promoted the anticolonialism, peace, international solidarity, and social justice values within Pancasila as the core values that must be maintained and upheld, especially amid the current global challenges and geopolitical situations.
The Pancasila Day, commemorated on every June 1, refers to the historical moment 80 years ago when Ir. Soekarno introduced Pancasila concept and jargon as the constitution of Indonesia during the first assembly of the Investigating Committee for Preparatory Work for Independence (BPUPKI).
The assembly became a monumental moment in achieving Indonesia independence, where 67 BPUPKI members discussed the constitution formulas set forth in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
OJK held the flag ceremony simultaneously in both the Head Office and all OJK Regional Offices.
