Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched the Roadmap for the Development and Strengthening of Indonesian Banking (RP3I) 2026-2030. The roadmap provides strategic directions for the Indonesia banking industry in the future. The roadmap also discusses how the industry utilizes changes for capacity building and new opportunity creation in addition to facing various challenges.
The RP3I 2026-2030 establishes the following strategic priorities as the framework for banking industry development:
1. Institutional Strengthening and Integrity Enforcement
Strengthening banks' institutional structures and capacities, capitals, as well as liquidity, governance, risk management, and integrity to create a more competitive, healthier, more resilient industry.
2. Technology Modernization and Digital Resilience
Promoting prudent digital transformation and innovation, including emerging dan frontier technologies uses, while enforcing digital governance, security, and resilience.
3. Financial Market Deepening and Intermediary Optimization
Expanding banking products and activities within the banks' universal framework, increasing funding to productive sectors, strengthening supply chain ecosystem, and promoting Open Banking—Open Finance development for intermediary quality and effectivity.
4. Sustainable Finances and Sustainable Risk Resilience
Optimizing sustainable finance practices and sustainable risk management, while promoting better funding for transformation toward sustainable economy.
5. Integrated Licensing and Adaptive Supervision
Establishing more integrated and efficient licensing procedures, as well as adaptive and risk-based supervision, including market conduct and risk supervision on sustainability.
The issuance and implementation of the RP3I 2026–2030 are expected to strengthen synergy among regulators, the banking industry, and other relevant stakeholders in building a more modern, sound, resilient, and inclusive banking industry, while supporting productive and sustainable economic growth.
