Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched the 2026 Banking Climate Risk Management and Scenario Analysis Guideline to strengthen banking resilience against climate risk.
The guideline refines the CRMS previously released in 2024, taking methodology development, data availability, climate policy dynamics, and lessons from CRMS implementation by the banking industry. Going forward, OJK will continue to develop the climate risk management framework in a gradual and proportionate manner, taking into consideration developments in international practices and the characteristics of the national economy. The 2026 Banking CRMS implementation expects the banking industry to not only become prepared in facing climate changes risks, but also to become a strategic partner for the real sector in the transformation toward a more competitive, resilient, and sustainable economy.
