Moch. Muchlasin was born in Kebumen, Central Java Province in 1971. He completed his Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Economics, Accounting Department at the University of Indonesia in 1998, and earned his Master's degree in Organization & Management Studies from The University of New South Wales in 2004.

Moch. Muchlasin held various positions in OJK, namely as Director of Sharia NBFI (2013-2020), Head of Department: Specialized Supervision for Non-Bank Financial Industry (2020 – 2022), Head of Department: Surety, Pension Funds, and Specialized Supervision (2023-2025). Most recently, he has been serving as the Head of the OJK Office of South and West Sulawesi since March 1, 2025.

Moch. Muchlasin actively involved in several professional bodies as member and then vice chairman of Sharia Accounting Standards Board -  Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountant (2015-2022) and member of National Sharia Board – MUI (2020 – 2025).
