Eko Yunianto was born in Gombong in 1970. He completed his Undergraduate's degree in Banking Finance from Universitas Diponegoro ini 1992, Bachelor's degree in Management from Universitas Ekasakti in 1992, dan currently is finishing his Master's degree from Universitas Diponegoro.

He held various positions in OJK, namely as the Head of Subdivision in Solo OJK Office (2014-206), Head of Division in East Kalimantan OJK Office (2016-2019), and Head of Solo OJK Office (2019-2024).​​ His last position was as the Head of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta OJK Office since July 2024.
